ICANN has opened a one-month nomination period for the Dr. Tarek Kamel Award for Capacity Building. ICANN introduced the Dr. Tarek Kamel Award for Capacity Building in January 2020 to recognize ICANN community members for significant efforts in developing capacity in areas related to ICANN's mission. The deadline for nominations is 25 July 2022 at 23:59 UTC.

ICANN announced the successful candidates selected to participate in the ICANN Fellowship Program at the ICANN75 Annual General Meeting, which will take place from 17–22 September 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In total, ICANN selected 37 applicants from 32 different countries, with all coming from different sectors of society.

The Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) advises the ICANN Board on public issues, particularly in areas where ICANN policies intersect with both national laws and international agreements. ICANN is honored to announce the recipient of the 2022 Community Excellence Award is a long-time member of the ICANN community, Vanda Scartezini. The ICANN Community Excellence Award honors members of the ICANN community who have deeply invested in consensus-based solutions and contributed in a substantive way to policymaking within the ICANN ecosystem.
